ERC chairman sees way to avoid French boycott

By Alastair McDermott | January 24th, 2007

There is still some hope for next year’s [tag]Heineken Cup[/tag] with [tag]ERC[/tag] chairman Jean-Pierre Lux talking about how a [tag]French[/tag] [tag]boycott[/tag] might be avoided:

We cannot begin domestic competition until after the [tag]World Cup[/tag] but it is possible to find a solution

Maybe we play through the [tag]Six Nations[/tag] and when [tag]France[/tag] tour Australia they omit players still in the competition

This is a potential goer because Lux isn’t only the European [tag]Rugby[/tag] Cup chairman – he’s also the representative of [tag]Ligue Nationale de Rugby[/tag], the French clubs’ representative group, on ERC.

Here’s to hoping!
